Management (or managing) is the administration of organisations through business administration, nonprofit management, or the political science subfield of public administration, depending on whether they are businesses, nonprofit organisations, or governmental bodies.

It is the science of overseeing the assets of corporations, institutions of higher learning, and other organisations. Setting an organization’s plan and directing the work of its volunteers or employees to achieve its goals via the use of available resources, such as financial, natural, technological, authorised authority, and human resources, are included in management. In management, the terms “run the business” and “change the business” are used to distinguish between continuing to provide goods or services and tailoring those products or services to satisfy customers’ changing demands.
